Elizabeth Hurley has caused controversy recently, after she revealed that she only drinks a glass of water for breakfast in order to maintain her slim figure.
The 45 year old model revealed that she often only drinks a glass of hot water, sometimes followed by coffee or an oat bar, instead of eating a full breakfast. ‘My diet survived the onslaught of phenomenal vacation food-doctors disagree, but I swear by almost nothing for breakfast for adults’ tweeted the mum.

Miss Hurley has received much praise for her slim figure, but many health experts have spoken out against her dietary habits. She has been known to adopt a number of different weight loss diets in recent years. In the past she has fasted on oat cakes, and has embraced a less that appetising watercress soup diet in order to lose weight.

“This is not the breakfast that I would recommend to people with regular lives” said leading nutritionist Carina Norris. “If you think that some hot water and a coffee is all you need to look like Liz Hurley, then I’m afraid you are wrong”.
Potential obesity
Recent figures released have revealed that a number of children in the UK are regularly skipping breakfast. In fact, the children who do miss the first meal of the day are running a bigger risk of potential obesity.
The study was conducted here in the UK, where experts monitored around 4,300 school children. They found that 32% of the kids had got in to the habit of not eating before school. Girls who regularly skipped breakfast were found to be 92% more likely to become obese. Likewise, boys who skipped breakfast were found to be more susceptible to becoming obese, with a 62% rate.
